When LLS was founded in 1949, a blood cancer diagnosis was almost always fatal. Thanks in part to innovative research funded by LLS, survival rates have doubled, tripled and even quadrupled for blood cancer patients. Donations, and specifically large corporate donations, have made these life-saving strides possible.
Equally important is the crucial role LLS plays in maintaining advocacy programs for patients, educating the world about blood-borne cancers, and supporting families facing blood cancer. LLS gives families a place to turn when facing one of the unimaginable fears in life for a parent — a sick child.
